The business has a system. Your people still need a leader.

Your franchise may provide standards, training and a familiar brand. You still have to build trust with your managers, address performance, make difficult decisions and decide when to step in—or step back.

Perhaps a manager checks with you on decisions you thought they owned. Perhaps one location needs so much attention that the others get less of you. Or the business is moving forward, but you're struggling to find room for the work only you can do.

You don't have to wait for a crisis to talk about it. Coaching gives you somewhere to examine those patterns and choose how you want to respond.

Make room for your team to take ownership

Managers who can move things forward

You want people who notice what needs attention and act with good judgment. Ryan can help you explore how your expectations, communication and leadership contribute to that kind of ownership—and where your managers may need more clarity or support.

Delegation you can stand behind

Handing over a task can be easier than letting someone own the outcome. If work keeps finding its way back to you, coaching offers a place to examine what you're holding onto and what would help you lead with clearer boundaries. For a practical starting point, read how to delegate as a business owner.

Conversations you've been putting off

A missed expectation or tension between leaders rarely becomes easier through avoidance. You can work with Ryan on what you need to say, how you want to show up and how to follow through while respecting the people involved.

Capacity for the next stage

With several locations, your attention can become stretched across different teams and competing needs. With one location, you may still be the person everyone turns to. Coaching helps you consider the responsibilities that belong with you, the leadership you want to develop around you and the changes you're ready to make.

Work with someone who knows the responsibility of ownership

Ryan is a multi-unit franchise owner as well as an executive coach with Novus Global. He brings firsthand experience of owning and leading businesses to conversations about the demands of being an operator.

His background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker also informs how he understands people, relationships and difficult conversations. Here, the work is business coaching: helping you consider your choices as a leader and put those choices into practice.

Your business, team and goals will shape the conversation. Ryan's experience offers perspective; it doesn't replace learning what matters in your particular situation.

A place to think clearly about how you lead

Talk with Ryan

Free, no-obligation consultation

Start with a free consultation. Tell Ryan what's happening in the business, where you're feeling stretched and what you would like to be different. You can ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels useful.

From there, the scope is tailored to your needs. Ryan works with individual owners and leadership teams, with coaching available in person or virtually. You might focus on one immediate challenge or develop an ongoing coaching relationship.

The aim is to connect the conversation to how you lead between sessions. Learn more about what to expect from executive coaching or explore Sherpa's broader business coaching services.

Questions franchise owners often ask

Is this coaching for choosing or buying a franchise?

This page is for people already operating a franchise who want support with leadership and their role as an owner. Choosing a franchise, evaluating an investment or negotiating an agreement calls for the appropriate specialist advice. Ryan's business coaching focuses on you and the team you lead.

Do I need to own multiple locations?

No. Owners of a single location can face the same questions about delegation, manager development and personal capacity. If you operate several locations, you can also explore how you lead across teams while giving each location the attention it needs.

Can Ryan work with my managers or leadership team?

Yes. Ryan offers individual coaching and leadership and team training. You can discuss communication, conflict, alignment and the depth of support your team needs during the consultation. The engagement is shaped around your situation.

Can we work together virtually?

Yes. Ryan offers virtual coaching, as well as in-person sessions in Wake Forest and Raleigh and on-site work at businesses. You can discuss the format that fits your team and circumstances when you speak with him.

How much does coaching cost, and how long does it last?

The initial consultation is free and has no obligation. Coaching is quoted case by case after Ryan learns about the work you need. An engagement may be a session or two or an ongoing relationship; there is no single required program length.

You don't have to carry every decision alone

You may know exactly what needs to change, or you may simply know that the way you're carrying the business is getting harder. Either is a good place to begin a conversation.
